Premachandra Sagar, Pro-chancellor, DSU, have conceptualized and established Dr Chandramma Dayananda Sagar Institute of Medical Education and Research (CDSIMER) in loving memory of their mother, (Late) Dr. Chandramma Sagar, and father, (Late) Sri. R. Dayananda Sagar. The Institution aims to impart quality education and training to students using the latest, state-of-the-art technologies like smart classrooms and advanced skills laboratories.

Dr. Chandramma Dayananda Sagar Institute of Medical Education and Research (CDSIMER) is a smart campus that has been established across a sprawling 140 acres land with an environment that encourages creativity, stimulates innovation and motivates scholarly pursuits to revolutionize the nature of medicine, science and society for national and global welfare. The campus provides world class infrastructure equipped with modern facilities for medical teaching, pursuing medical science research and practice holistic clinical patientcare. To get MBBS from Dr Chandramma Dayananda Sagar Institute of Medical Education and Research provides undergraduate and postgraduate programmers in various streams with highly qualified faculties MBBS From Dr Chandramma Dayananda Sagar Institute of Medical Education and Research offers a MBBS program having a duration of 4.5 years along with 1 year internship After passing the final MBBS examination students must have temporary registration from Karnataka Medical Council and full registration after completing one year internship. The total intake for the programmer is 150 seats. The eligibility criteria for securing a seat for the MBBS course are:
Candidates must have completed 10+2 or equivalent examination conducted by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore with a 50% aggregate in Biology, Physics and Chemistry with English as a compulsory language. Library is fully air-conditioned. It offers several services in support of academic and research work. Located at the ‘G’ Block 5th floor with an area of 2500 Sq. mtrs with a seating capacity of 350, the entire library is connected through LAN & Wi-Fi.

The college runs hostels for the within the campus for Girls & Boys separately. The hostel buildings with spacious rooms, lounges, recreation room having color television sets in each of the hostels, with all other modern amenities, are built to ensure comfortable stay of the inmates, and a proper atmosphere for study. The women students’ hostel, with a view to ensure absolute safety of the inmates, is fenced properly and secured.
